What Did You Say? Labuschagne and Khawaja Interact with a Furious England Supporter at The Oval

When the Australians perform in the UK, the English fans may be difficult to cope with. However, the booing at the Ashes 2023 was a bit more intense than usual since a few of the visiting players had to interact with the home crowd repeatedly. The Australian team is dealing with another irate English fan at The Oval in London where the last Test of the series is being played, weeks after the incident involving Usman Khawaja and David Warner in the Lord’s Long Room.<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-103949″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-people-would-look-for-buddhist-monasteries-in-temples-if-the-bjp-searches-for-temples-in-mosques-according-to-sp-maurya-download-2023-07-31t121932.457.jpg” alt=”” width=”1231″ height=”922″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-people-would-look-for-buddhist-monasteries-in-temples-if-the-bjp-searches-for-temples-in-mosques-according-to-sp-maurya-download-2023-07-31t121932.457.jpg 259w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/theindiaprint.com-people-would-look-for-buddhist-monasteries-in-temples-if-the-bjp-searches-for-temples-in-mosques-according-to-sp-maurya-download-2023-07-31t121932.457-150×112.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1231px) 100vw, 1231px” />

Australian cricketers Marnus Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja can be seen arguing with a fan in a video that has gone viral on social media. They were arguing on their way back to the changing room. The event took place towards the end of the third day of play, when England had recorded 389/9 at stumps, according to the post’s description.

Every player walking by was met with the chant “boring” from an England supporter. After hearing it, Labuschagne replied by asking, “What did you say, mate?”

Behind Labuschagne, Usman Khawaja stepped in to mediate and told the supporter to “Calm Down.”

The incident most likely took place after Stuart Broad’s shocking announcement that the Ashes series would be his last in Test cricket. The choice wasn’t made recently. In fact, Broad has said that he didn’t tell England Test captain Ben Stokes about the decision until Friday night, when he felt completely satisfied with it.

In his Daily Mail column, Broad said that it was essential for him that his last match be played against Australia in the Ashes, which he views as the pinnacle of Test cricket.

“Ashes cricket has brought out the best in me, I love the energy of the battle against Australia, the crowd involvement, I’m proud to have 150 Test wickets against them, and ultimately these are the memories I will hold with me for the rest of my life,” Broad wrote.

Australia has secured the Ashes for 2023 with a commanding 2-1 advantage, and they want to win the remaining fifth Test at the Oval convincingly to complete a series sweep.
