<p>The Indian team got off to a fast start by winning the first set easily, 6-2. However, as they struggled in the next two sets, their fortunes dramatically declined. The Bopanna-Bhambri team fell to the tough Sergey Fomin and Khumoyun Sultanov of Uzbekistan by a score of 3-6 in the second set, and eventually lost 6-10. The Indian team defeated Indonesia’s Ignatius Anthony Susanto and David Agung Susanto in the second round of men’s doubles in straight sets. By winning the first set 3-6 and the decisive second set 2-6, Saketh and Ramkumar demonstrated their skill.</p>
<p>Bhosale and Thandi defeated Zhanel Rustemova and Aruzhan Sagandykova of Kazakhstan in the women’s doubles first round, winning in two sets. The first set ended with a score of 6-4, while the second set was won easily with a score of 6-2.</p>
<p>Additionally, Indian tennis players excelled in the singles competition as well. On Monday, the pre-quarterfinal round of the Asian Games 2023 saw the advancement of Ankita Raina, Rutruja Bhosale, and Ramkumar Ramanathan. Sabrina Olimjonova of Uzbekistan was defeated by Ankita in a quick two-set match with scores of 6-0, 6-0, in only 51 minutes, demonstrating her superiority.</p>
<p>Bhosale defeated Kazakhstan’s Aruzhan Sagandykova in a tightly fought match by a score of 7-6 (2) in the first set and a more convincing 6-2 triumph in the second, wrapping up the encounter in 45 minutes. While Sunatullo Isroilov of Tajikistan, Ramkumar’s opponent, was unable to participate and gave Ramkumar a walkover.</p>
<p>In the history of Indian tennis in the Asian Games, the nation has won an impressive 32 medals, including nine gold, six silver, and 17 bronze. India has performed well in the 2023 Asian Games, winning a total of 10 medals, including a gold in the men’s 10m Air Rifle Team competition.</p>
